A Three-Day Hands-On Journey in Mobile Filmmaking
From 12 to 14 December 2025, participants took part in the three-day Make a Movie Workshop, gaining hands-on experience in bringing their own stories from initial ideas to completed films.
Throughout the workshop, participants learned the key stages of filmmaking, including how to conceptualise, plan, shoot and edit their own stories. Using accessible tools such as mobile phones and CapCut, they were able to put their learning into practice by creating original films.
Learning Through Making
The workshop provided participants with an opportunity to experience the filmmaking process through practical learning. From developing an idea and planning their stories to capturing footage and editing their work, participants were involved throughout the creative process.
Working with mobile devices also demonstrated how filmmaking can begin with tools that are readily available, allowing participants to focus on storytelling, creativity and the process of transforming ideas into visual content.
Bringing Original Stories to Life
By the conclusion of the three-day workshop, participants had applied what they learned to create their own films using mobile phones and CapCut.
Their efforts throughout the workshop reflected the creativity and determination involved in developing an original idea and bringing it to life on screen.
The Make a Movie Workshop provided a practical and engaging learning experience, giving participants an opportunity to explore filmmaking by learning, experimenting and creating their own stories.
