English Proficiency Class Supports Learners in Preparing for IELTS

Building English communication skills through structured learning, assessment and IELTS preparation.

Raffles University conducted an English Proficiency Class (IELTS Preparation) from 16 July to 26 November 2025, providing adult learners with structured English language training to strengthen their proficiency and prepare them for potential progression towards the IELTS examination.

Conducted at Raffles University, the programme was facilitated by Mr Levin Conal Mark and Ms Thivya AP Asokan. Classes were held weekly, with the programme spanning approximately four months.

Developing English Proficiency Through Structured Learning

The programme was designed in a small-group learning format to provide learners with focused guidance and opportunities to develop their English language abilities. Before commencing the programme, learners underwent a placement test to determine their current level of English proficiency.

Throughout the programme, learners participated in structured lessons and assessments, including a midterm examination and final examination, allowing their progress to be evaluated over the course of the training.

Based on their progress and readiness, learners may also be recommended to sit for the official IELTS examination.

Through this English proficiency programme, Raffles University continues to provide learning opportunities that support adult learners in strengthening their communication skills, building confidence in English and preparing for further academic or professional development.
